Boston, MA – August 13, 2012 – Retailers across the United States have begun to up the ante on food manufacturers in their search for new and innovated products to introduce to their customers. Now, with more than 5,000 new products being introduced to retailers yearly, the demand for manufactures to produce unique products has never been higher. Based upon research conducted by Chicago based Perishable Group, the number of value added seafood products increased more than 10% in supermarkets since 2011.
Launch in 2010, the timing could not have been better for Maristella’s Fine Foods to introduce their line of All Natural, Authentic Sicilian Arborio Rice Arancin’s at the 2011 International Boston Seafood Show. Their new line gained national attention as a finalist in the “2011 Seafood Excellence Award Show” for best new retail product. Over 120 products were entered during the show with only eight products being selected as finalist.

Maristella’s Fine Foods Arborio Rice Arancini’s are all natural, delicious rice balls that are made with authentic Italian Arborio Rice harvested from the Po Valley in Northern Italy. They are made with a three cheese blend of Pecorino Romano, Parmesan, and Mozzarella, peas, all natural herbs and the finest seafood. The result is a melt-in-your-mouth new way to enjoy seafood. The Arancin’s come in five different seafood varieties; Lobster, Shrimp, Salmon, Blue Crab and Scallop.
The Arancini line is extremely popular with children and families because of their uniqueness, crunchy coating and delicious cheesy taste.
Building upon their success of their line of Arancini’s, Maristella’s Fine Foods introduced a new line of All Natural Classic Seafood pot pies at the 2012 International Boston Seafood show and once again, their Wild Caught Shrimp Gumbo Pot Pie with Andouille & Madeira Wine was a finalist in the “2012 Seafood Excellence Award Show” for best new retail product.
“That made it two years in a row that one of our products has been selected as a finalist for best new retail product. As a two year old company, it just confirms our commitment to provide consumers with new innovated and exciting seafood products that can be enjoyed by families everywhere,” added Brandano.
The new line comes in three different seafood varieties: Salmon, Shrimp and Haddock and will be showing up on retailer’s shelves starting in September. Consumers will be in for a real treat when they break into the flaky puff pastry crust and find delectable pot pies filled with Shrimp, Haddock, and delicious wild caught Alaskan Salmon and lots of freshly cut vegetables. The new pot pies offers consumers a variety of food groups in one small dish that is easily prepared.
